It's all begins at 22nd Sep, 1976......

One upon a time, there was a boy called Ronaldo Luiz Nazario de Lima born at 9:30 am at Sao Francisco Javier hospital in Rio de Janerio, Brazil.

Before his birth, his family had a already a daughter, Lone, and a son, Nelinho

Later on, Ronaldo got a nickname, Dadado, which was what his sister called him because she couldn't pronounce his name properly. But now, no one would call him Dadado.

Ronaldo grew up in Bento Ribeiro, a suburb of Rio. He was obsessed with football from a very young age. His mum Sonia said that he used to talk in his sleep, shouting: 'pass it, pass it, let me score!' and kicking his legs in the air.

During his childhood, Ronaldo wanted to be a soldier or play the bass drum. He did not have much interest in school, but Portuguese and English were his best subjects.

When he was four, his father, Nelio, gave him a football as Christmas gift. From then on, he used to play it every day. His father said: 'he liked to challenge other kids to see who could keep the ball up the longest.'

Ronaldo loved sweets, and every time he came back home with a cake or lollipop in his hand.

Zico was Ronaldo's idol. When Ronaldo is 9, his father took him to watch his idol the first time playing against Vasco da Gama at Maracana Stadium. Ronaldo then hoped to end his career back in Brazil playing for Flamengo, the team Zico played for.

The first football match Ronaldo played was indoors at Valqueire tenis clube. His coach, Fernando Dos Santos, found him as a potential star and took him to play 11-a-side for Clube de Ramos. Ronaldo scored 166 goals for Ramos. Then he was asked to go for a trial with Sao Cristovao, who played in the Rio second division.
