Horse Racing, Hong Kong

Horse Racing is very popular in HK. In fact it is the gambling activity with the highest turnover in the world. Even if you are not into gambling, you should still pay a visit to the race when you are in HK. It is fun and cheap - only HK$ 10 for entry. More information in Horse Racing section

Lightshow at Victoria Harbour

At 8 pm every night at the Victoria Harbour, you will see a 'symphony of light' created by the major buildings of both sides of the Harbour. It is a 15 minutes performance which, other than costing a lot of money and energy; is sort of spectacular. On important dates such as New Year, the performance will come with firework as well

Chinese New Year Celebration -
Parade, Lion dance, firework, Soccer tournament - 4 teams from different countries come to celebrate Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year usually falls in early February, but sometimes also in late January


Chinese Valentine's Day - Lantern show

It marks the end of the 15-day celebration of Chinese New Year every year. The Lantern Festival was the Chinese Valentine's Day in the past and now is celebrated with making giant lanterns of both traditional and modern icons. You can see them at TST, Hung Hom and Victoria Park

HK Marathon - A well known event draws 40,000 participants every year. The competition is divided into 10KM, half Marathon and full Marathon. The full marathon runs through the heart of HK as well as the harbor side - the view is amazing! If you want to participate, please make sure you have registered by December the year before (www.hkmarathon.com) HK Marathon

HK Rugby 7 - The international tournament attracts 20+ national rugby teams and 10,000 of visitors every year. Probably the annual biggest Sports activity, or just the biggest activity in HK. It shows the world that HK is not only about Capitalism; it can also hold Sports event (www.hkrugby.com)

22nd December, a day every one should go home and have dinner with the whole family altogether

Theme Parks Christmas - Mickey Mouse and his friends come celebrate Christmas with visitors at Disneyland. While artificial snow will be falling all over the theme park

HK Winter Fest - Santa Claus' hometown will be set up in Central and nice children can make a wish at the wishing Christmas Tree
