Finally,
there is a section introduces about myself - the creator,
and the one who is setting a Guinness World Record being the first to visit all
the 7-Eleven shops in HK, which makes me who know HK more than 99% of the local
since I have walked allover there.
This
is the sitemap of my website. Every serious website in the
Internet has a section like that. I am serious, so I believe I should create a
section like this as well.
This
is a collection of the maps along the subway/ metro/
underground
of HK. Also includes satellite images of the
neighborhood of CityU, so you should never be lost unless you are
lacking of the sense of direction.
You
can find some useful Cantonese phrases here with
pronunciation and tone indication. All Cantonese teaching
books in the world never bother to teach you about the tone but it is
absolutely one key feature if you want your Cantonese understandable by
the locals. You can also learn some swear words
from here.
This
sections includes all the contact information (numbers and/or
website) for
emergency, different departments of CityU,
various departments of the HK government, and
the
consulates / commissioners office. In much
more detail then the CityU Student Handbook.
This
is a small section that tells you what is going on in the city,
apart from my updates on Facebook. If you are coming for exchange
for 1 year, the
year round events calendar would probably be very
useful to you.
This
section gives you some tips about traveling to countries around Hong
Kong. Like China, Macau, Japan and South East Asia. Where to get
China visa and
cheap hotel + flight ticket packages.
This
section introduces you all kinds of in-city transportation of Hong Kong. Also,
you can find information about the operation hour of the
subway /metro /underground, as well as the average price of
taking a taxi/cab to anywhere HK.
This
maybe the 2nd most viewed section in my website after CityU by
exchange students. Here you can find the locations of the most
interesting bars and clubs in HK. It tells you more than
Lan Kwai Fong and Wanchai, but also TST, Mong Kok, Shatin, and even
some islands.
Similarly,,
you can find locations of restaurant of
international cuisine from the Food section. You can also find the
locations of food stores, average price for certain kind
of foodstuff, and the Chinese name and pronunciation
of some most popular Chinese dishes.
You
can find information about shop locations and shopping tips. From
electronics, clothes, and stationery, to household
products, grocery, and gifts. Ladies' Market, Men's Market, Night Market, Fish
Street, and Sneaker Street are something you could not miss.
This
is a section about Hong Kong, what is it like and the people living there. It
also provides information about what you can do in Hong Kong. The "50
things you have to do before you leave" is the most emphasized part
by the readers of this section.
This
chapter talks about the school, hostel, and
neighborhood. Something you cannot find from the official websites, and 'survival
tips' that helps you to fit the new environment. For e.g. connecting
to Internet, getting package from home, and course registration.
This
section gives you an introduction to Hong Kong. It helps you to plan
your
budget, and talks about things you need to know before you come, such as
accommodation, applying visa, medical insurance, and working in HK, etc.
